Creating Confident Kids
Creating Confident Kids Program
The ‘Creating Confident Kids’ program has been designed for parents of children 2-6 years of age who want to know how to assist their kids in developing self-confidence and healthy self-esteem. The program is based on both ‘Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy’ and ‘Acceptance and Commitment Therapy’. It also focuses on building the strengths that already exist in families.
Topics of the program include:
- understanding the foundations of self confidence in children
- parental beliefs and their influence on child self confidence
- having reasonable expectations about our children and fostering their independence
- discussing responsibility, boundaries and roles
- helping kids to have a positive view of themselves
- helping kids to manage their emotions
- the skills of self confident action
- building resilient families
How much does the program cost?
The program costs $480 per family (both parents are welcome to attend) and includes:
1. Eight sessions over eight weeks. Each session is two hours with an experienced
clinical therapist (sixteen hours in total, which works out to $60 per session) and a
half hour break.
2. Course materials (manual, handouts, etc).
3. Tea, coffee and biscuits.
You may also be eligible for Medicare rebates or our reduced fee option.
